Trusting God Through the Journey of Family and Faith

Kia ora koutou, and warm greetings and Talofa lava!

Last week, Felicity and I celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary on October 2nd. What a journey it has been since we first met as young students training to be teachers in Auckland. As we look back, we are deeply thankful for God’s guiding hand through every season of life, the joys, the challenges, and the many changes along the way.

With four grown children and twelve precious grandchildren, we can testify to the goodness and faithfulness of God. Marriage and family life have brought moments of laughter and love, but also times that tested our patience and faith. Through it all, one truth has remained constant, God has been our shelter, our strength, and our provider.

Our journey has taken us from the vibrant diversity of Auckland, where people from all around the world became our neighbours, to the welcoming community of Tauranga Moana, where we’ve been blessed to form new friendships and family ties. Every move and milestone has reminded us that God’s presence is with us wherever we go, and His Word continues to sustain and guide us.

I encourage you with these scriptures:

God is with us  “… do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

God can be trusted “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him,and He will make straight your paths.”
Proverbs 3:5–6 (ESV)

God’s grace is our foundation “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing;it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8 (ESV)

As we reflect on our 44 years together, we can only say to God be the glory. He has been faithful in every step, and we believe He will continue to be faithful in the days ahead.

May this encourage every family: keep trusting in God’s promises. Let His Word be your strength, His presence your peace, and His grace your daily gift.

Viia le Atua, Praise be to God for His unfailing love.

Ngā manaakitanga,
Enosa
