Sunday 1st May 2026
Kia ora koutou, and warm greetings and Talofa lava!
As you read this, many of you would have taken part in communion last Sunday.
As I pondered on the Lord’s supper and the remembrance of the Lord Jesus, His “precious blood” came to mind.
This description is from 1 Peter 1:18 -19 AMPC
“You must know (recognise) that you were redeemed (ransomed) from the useless (fruitless) way of living inherited by tradition from [your] forefathers, not with corruptible things [such as] silver and gold, But [you were purchased] with the precious blood of Christ (the Messiah), like that of a [sacrificial] lamb without blemish or spot.”
Blood Acrostic
Bought with a price (to be His own), .. 1 Corin 6:20
Loosed us from useless tradition & sins, .. Rev 1:5
Overcame fruitlessness, and dead works, .. Rev 12:11, Heb 9:14
Obtained forgiveness and redemption for us .. Hebrews 9:12
Defeated Death forever .. Hebrews 2:15, 9:15
The Revelation verse above from chapter 12, couples the word of our testimony with the overcoming power of the blood of Jesus. If you have not written your personal testimony down, can I encourage you to consider jotting down a few paragraphs? The Holy Spirit may use you to edify someone else with more than a snippet from your life story and experiences. When opportunity intersects preparation, you will be ready to give the reason for the hope you have in Christ, to the glory of God.
Wishing you a blessed week.
May your “faith and hope be in God” 1 Peter 1:21
