Kia ora koutou, and warm greetings and Talofa lava!

During our bus tour around Ireland, the scenery was breathtaking, and God’s creation was beautiful to behold. Yet what should have been a joyful ending became difficult when a cold and chest infection spread through the group. Many became sick, and it was frustrating knowing that a lack of care and consideration affected so many people and overshadowed the last couple of days of the trip.

Moments like these remind us how connected we all are. Scripture says:

“None of us lives for ourselves alone.” Romans 14:7

Our choices impact others. Whether in a church family, a community, or even on a bus tour, we are called to think beyond ourselves and care for one another.

Yet perhaps the greater challenge is how we respond when people disappoint us. Scripture reminds us:

“Be kind and compassionate… forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

And yet, even in the disruption, God was still at work. On the last day, I had the opportunity to share the Good News with our Irish tour guide and two American travellers, encouraging them in their faith and sharing Scriptures about hope.

It was a reminder that even when plans change, God’s purposes continue. As Romans 8:28 reminds us, God works through all things for good. What felt like disappointment became an opportunity for ministry, and a reminder that no moment is wasted in God’s hands.
