Kia ora koutou, and warm greetings and Talofa lava!
Life Is a Gift — Make Every Day Count!
Let me ask you a question: If God gave you an extra 24 hours tomorrow, what would you do? Sleep a little longer? Catch up with friends? Play with the grandchildren? Or finally tackle that job you’ve been putting off? (We all have one!)
The truth is, life moves quickly. Whether we’re young or old, studying or working, raising a family or enjoying retirement, God has given each of us the wonderful gift of life, and every day is an opportunity to make it count.
Psalm 90:12 says, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
God isn’t asking us to count our days anxiously, but to live them wisely and gratefully. Enjoy the little things, a good laugh, a shared meal, a beautiful morning, a conversation with a friend. Don’t wait for everything to be perfect before you thank God and enjoy His goodness.
And while we’re enjoying life, let’s use our time to bless others. Make that phone call. Encourage someone who is struggling. Forgive where there has been hurt. Tell your family you love them. You never know how much a small act of kindness might mean to someone.
Here’s another thought: Our legacy isn’t just what we leave behind; it’s what we leave within the hearts of others.
Our children, grandchildren, friends and neighbours may not remember everything we say, but they’ll remember how we made them feel and how we treated them.
We may not change the whole world, but we can make someone’s world a little brighter!
So, whatever stage of life you’re in, remember this: God isn’t finished with you. There’s still love to share, wisdom to pass on, prayers to pray and kindness to offer.
Let’s enjoy God’s gifts, make the most of our time, and leave behind a legacy that reflects His faithfulness.
Life is a gift. Love is our calling. And every day is another opportunity to show the world that God is faithful!
Amen!
