A Message of Thanks for Our Volunteers
When organising an event or even planning our church services, the question is often asked……….
“Who is doing that? Who is responsible for clearing the kitchen? Who is coordinating the church clean-up? Who is on the data projector this week? What about the sound or the rearrangement of the chairs?”
And the list goes on.
Often, these tasks are done quietly and faithfully by people whose service may not be noticed, but it is never unseen by God.
This week, I want to pause and say a grateful thank you to all our volunteers who serve faithfully across so many areas of our church life. Much of what you do may feel ‘under the radar’, welcoming at the doors, setting up morning tea, reading the Bible, leading in prayer, caring for children, visiting the elderly, helping with meals, cleaning, gardening, or offering quiet acts of care.
Every one of these acts of service matters. They reflect the love of Christ and help our church to be a place of welcome, worship, and community. This is a powerful expression and practice of God’s love and service in our community.
On behalf of the church family, thank you for your faithfulness, your love, and your willingness to serve. May the Lord bless you richly as you continue to serve Him with a joyful heart.
A Prayer of Thanks for Our Volunteers
Lord, we give thanks for our volunteers,
For by their work Your name is exalted.
We give thanks for our volunteers,
For by offering their talents and gifts to serve, they tell of Your wonderful deeds.
We give thanks and praise for their faithfulness,
For through their service others are drawn into fellowship with You.
We will rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks for our volunteers with grateful hearts.
“May the Lord grant you your heart’s desire and fulfil all your plans.” (Psalm 20:4)
“Blessed are those who dwell in your house, ever singing your praise.” (Psalm 84:4)
Amen.
