Embracing God’s Peace: Strength for Every Season

Tena koutou, and greetings church family.

Last Sunday, we were blessed to hear many testimonies of answered prayers. What a joy to witness God’s hand moving among us! This Sunday, I’ll be sharing about the importance of church community—especially in times of weariness, illness, or recovery. Our church family is here to uplift and pray for one another in every season of life.

As I write this, I have a follow-up appointment with my doctor after my eye surgery. I’m grateful that everything has gone well—no doubt, in part, due to the covering of prayer.

No matter what you’re facing, we are never alone. The Holy Spirit is our helper, guiding us each day. Jesus Himself endured trials—temptation, rejection, and even the suffering of the cross—but through it all, He was strengthened by the Spirit. As our Good Shepherd, He assures us in John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

As the seasons change and autumn settles in, bringing cooler mornings and shorter days, we too may face life’s changing circumstances. Yet, we take comfort in knowing that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). He is our hope, our refuge, and our strength.

So, let us wait upon the Lord, for “those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:31).

Jesus reassures us in John 14:16-17, 26-27:
“…I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. … The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

May we continue to seek Him, dwell in His Word, and stand firm in faith.
