Good Deeds

Kia ora koutou, and warm greetings, church family!

A huge, big thank you to our church family at St Peters for welcoming the ethnic community to our combined church service last Sunday. With over 400 attendees, it took all of us working together to make the event a success—whether by helping at the BBQ, setting up tables, bringing chairs from upstairs, moving long seats in the auditorium, washing dishes, putting away chairs, welcoming guests in the morning, baking, cooking, vacuuming the floor, or helping with the worship or the 60 kids at KIC. All of these efforts made light work of hosting our guests. Well done, church!

What a wonderful fellowship of God’s people, where the joy of the Lord was evident as His church came together in unity to worship and praise His name.

As Hebrews 10:24-25 reminds us:
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another.”

It was truly a beautiful reflection of Psalm 133:1:
“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”

And Ephesians 4:3:
“Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”

Many of you shared how much you enjoyed the praise and worship, the teaching, and the involvement of so many, and expressed a desire to see such an event repeated in the future. One email in particular I’d like to share with you says:

“I just want to congratulate you for helping to put together the combined church service with the other church leaders last week. It was an inspiring event and reminded me of God’s glory and what it will be like when we are in heaven together! I thought the praise and worship was just glorious, with the freedom to express our praise and lift up His Name. Andrew’s
