Growing in Knowledge and Faith

Tena koutou, and greetings church family.

This week, I had the privilege of attending a Residential Course on Coaching for Church Leaders (CfCl), hosted by Laidlaw College at Vaughan Park in Auckland. This course is part of my ongoing learning and development for the year, which I began with Zoom sessions earlier.

The gathering brought together over 35 church leaders from across the country, each at different stages of their ministry. I was truly blessed to hear many testimonies of God’s work in individuals’ lives and in faith communities of various backgrounds. A few key moments stood out to me: one participant shared about the importance of listening for both God’s presence and His seeming absence in the coaching process, and another presenter challenged us to consider what intercultural engagement in the church and community truly means for us.

This week, I encourage you to be intentional in seeking and growing in your knowledge of God. Here are some words of encouragement from Scripture:

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18)

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding… for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.” (Proverbs 2:6,8)
