Hope, Peace, Joy, Love and Light (Christ Jesus)

Tena koutou, Huang Ying, Talofa lava, Welcome, and greetings church family.

We will celebrate the four Sundays with three activities. Felicity and I invite you and your family and friends to journey with us together in this season of Hope, Peace, Joy, Love and Light (Christ Jesus).

First activity: Prepare a wreath and place it in a special place in your home. Place your four candles inside representing each Sunday with the centre candle as the Christ candle (WHITE). See below.

Second activity: At home have a special Candle lit ceremony for each candle every week. Read the Bible chapters above following the introduction at church this first Sunday (27/11) till the fourth Sunday (18/12).

Third activity: Christmas tree prayers and affirmation faith card.We have a bare Christmas tree on display at the church. You are invited to write a prayer or an affirmation of your faith statement and hang it on the tree every Sunday till 18/12. Feel free to decorate your note or card making sure it is ready to be hung on the branches.

Advent Prophecies FROM THE OLD TESTAMENT Fulfilled – HALLELUJAH

The Messiah will come from Bethlehem. Micah 5:2

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me One who will be ruler over Israel.”

The prophet Micah wrote the book of Micah approximately 735-715 B.C.

Fulfilled in Mathew 2:1-6.

“But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.”

The branch from Jesse bears fruit. Isaiah 11:1 “A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a branch will bear fruit.”

The prophet Isaiah wrote Isaiah at approximately 700 B.C.

Fulfilled in Matthew and Luke which lists David in Jesus’ genealogy.
