Restored with Purpose
Kia ora koutou, and warm greetings!
One of my favourite things to watch on television is home improvement and renovation shows. There’s something deeply satisfying about seeing an old, neglected house being restored to its former glory or even transformed into something better. Whether it’s preserving a unique design, maintaining heritage, or simply saving costs, people have many reasons for restoring instead of rebuilding from scratch.
I love how intentional renovators are. Every decision has a purpose. They know what to keep, what to repair, and what to replace. That careful, thoughtful process reminds me so much of how God works in our lives.
The Christian Walk is, in many ways, a life-long renovation project. We are being renewed, restored, and made more like Christ day by day.
When life makes us anxious, Scripture reminds us:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God…”(Philippians 4:6–7)
When we stand at a crossroads, unsure of the next step:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…”(Proverbs 3:5–6)
And when we experience grief or deep sadness:
“The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
(Psalm 34:18)
God never gives up on us. He sees beyond the surface. He sees our value, our story, our original purpose, and He works patiently and lovingly to restore us.
You are His workmanship (Ephesians 2:10), created with intention and destined to bring glory to Jesus.
Wherever you are in your journey, trust that the Master Builder is still at work. Let Him restore you. One step, one prayer, one promise at a time.
