Following Jesus Toward Easter – Lent 2026
An Invitation to Take Part
This Wednesday (18/2) marked the beginning of Lent, the forty–day journey toward Jesus’ crucifixion and the hope of Easter.
I know many in our church are keen hikers, and you may relate to this picture:
“As I prepare for a three-hour walk to a mountain summit, I carefully check my boots and pack only what I need for the climb. I know there will be steep stretches and moments when my legs grow tired, yet the promise of the view at the top keeps me putting one foot in front of the other. There is something shaping, about a steady climb; it strengthens, focuses, and teaches perseverance.”
Lent is much like that journey. It is a deliberate forty-day walk where we travel lightly and fix our eyes on Jesus. Since the early Church, believers have set aside this sacred season for prayer, fasting, and repentance, echoing Jesus’ forty days in the wilderness. It is not a hurried sprint, but a faithful walk, step by step, along the road that leads to the cross and, ultimately, to Easter hope.
I warmly invite you to follow Jesus on this Road to Easter through the suggested reading plan below. The first two weeks are provided in this edition, with the remaining weeks to follow.
My prayer is that each day’s Scripture will become a steady step upward, gently shaping our hearts and drawing us closer to Christ as we walk this journey together.
