The True Election
Kia ora koutou, greetings church family.
For the last three months our environment has been populated with photos in large frames of men and women with the simple message “vote”. Our letter boxes have accumulated colourful brochures with the same message and has overflowed into in the privacy of our homes making the point vote! So voting has started with the final voting date on Saturday 14 October. As you contemplate who to vote for, please pray for all those New Zealanders putting their hands up for public role as they wait the outcome of the election. Pray for their families and supporters for the peace of God during this waiting period.
The bible talks about Gods election being completed by His son Jesus on the cross. Anyone who believes in Him will be in the Kingdom of God. Here are a few scriptures to ponder on.
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you (John 15:16)
Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, (Ephesians 1:4-5).
